1. Does my child need to be athletically inclined?
Children do not have to be athletically inclined although they
do need to demonstrate an interest in sports. Children will explore
the basic fundamentals of a variety of sports and learn numerous
skills such as team work, and problem solving.
2. What does the meal plan consist
of?
The meal plan will consist of a well balanced nutritious meal
daily. Each child will receive a juice, meal and dessert.
3. I understand you group 10 children with one counselor. What
group will my child be in?
Children will be grouped based on age. Younger children ages 5-8
are grouped co-ed, and will have 1 counselor for 10 children as
well as a CIT (Counselor in training) assigned to each group.
The older children 9-14 will be grouped according to age and gender
when possible in groups of 10 children with 1 counselor.
4. What percent of camp will be held
outdoors?
Children are encouraged to be outdoors as often as possible participating
in various sports and activities. We have an outdoor pool children
can enjoy, as well as an indoor air-conditioned complex (for days
that are too hot or rainy).
5. Will there be outings or excursion?
Children will be engaged in a variety of sports and activities
on site daily, with visits to the bowling alley (next door) on
occasion. We will host special guests and activities on site throughout
the summer.
6. Will swim time be supervised by
lifeguards?
There will be lifeguards at the pool to supervise the children
as well as counselors both in the water and pool side.
7. My child can’t swim. What will s/he do during swim time?
Children who can not swim will be required to wear an orange bracelet
to inform staff the child must remain in the shallow end at all
times. Counselors will also animate games by the pool for children
who prefer no to go in the water.
8. What will my child need to bring
for camp?
Children will need to bring with them daily:
lunch (if not on the Salvéo meal plan)
2 snacks
waterbottle
running shoes and sandals (for the pool)
swim suit/ towel
sunscreen
change of clothes
9. What qualifications do your camp
counselors possess?
Our team is compiled of energetic, motivated, and enthusiastic
camp counselors. They all have experience and a passion to work
with children. They are athletically inclined and eager to motivate
children to be active. The camp counselors receive training prior
to summer camp as well as a certification in CPR. We are well
prepared to offer your child a fun, active, and memorable experience.
10. What activities are planned during
the daycare sessions?
The children will remain busy during daycare sessions. Counselors
will animate activities, team games such as basketball, soccer,
fitness routines. As well, there will be some relaxing activities
such as arts and crafts, board games, etc…
