1. Does my child need to be athletically inclined?
Children do not have to be athletically inclined although they do need to demonstrate an interest in sports. Children will explore the basic fundamentals of a variety of sports and learn numerous skills such as team work, and problem solving.
2. What does the meal plan consist
of?
The meal plan will consist of a well balanced nutritious meal daily. Each child will receive a juice, meal and dessert and 2 snacks daily.
3. I understand you group 8 children with one counselor (multisport) and 6 children with one counselor (tennis). What group will my child be in?
Children will be grouped based on age in the beginning and by ability (if necessary) thereafter. Children are grouped co-ed, and will have 1 counselor for 8 children (multisport) and 1 coach per 6 children (tennis).
4. What percent of camp will be held outdoors?
Activities are organized so that the children can be outdoors as often as possible participating in various sports and activities. We have an outdoor pool children can enjoy, as well as an indoor air-conditioned complex (for days that are too hot or rainy).
5. Will there be outings or excursions?
One of the advantages of our camp is the fact that all activities happen on-site providing your children with the most secure camping experience possible.
6. Will swim time be supervised by
lifeguards?
There will be lifeguards at the pool to supervise the children as well as counselors both in the water and pool side.
7. My child can’t swim. What will s/he do during swim time?
Children will be evaluated at the beginning of the first swimming period on the Monday of every week. Those who cannot swim will be required to wear a bracelet, a flotation device and the lifeguards will ensure those children remain in the shallow end at all times. Counselors will also animate games beside the pool for children who prefer not to go in the water.
8. What will my child need to bring for camp?
Children will need to bring with them daily:
lunch (if not on the Salvéo meal plan)
2 snacks
waterbottle
running shoes (tennis shoes if in tennis camp)
swim suit/ towel
sunscreen (summer)
change of clothes (always a good idea)
9. What qualifications do your camp counselors possess?
Our team is compiled of energetic, motivated, and enthusiastic camp counselors and coaches. They all have experience, certification and a passion to work with children. They are athletically inclined and eager to motivate children to be active. The camp counselors and coaches receive training prior to summer camp (on top of their existing certifications) as well as a certification in CPR and first aid. We are well prepared to offer your child a fun, active, and memorable experience.
10. What activities are planned during the daycare sessions?
Children will be able to continue participating in several sports (equipment will be made available to them) or just relax at the end of a full camp day. Children are supervised by camp staff during these hours but no formal animation is offered.
